In order to extend health-cover to the local populace, the T.B. Sanatorium has gradually built up a Mobile Medical Service Unit (MMU) which targets villages under the districts of Ranchi, Khunti and West Singhbhum of Jharkhand state. The MMU has three centres at places like Indipiri, Bandua and Landup situated 50 km, 20 km and 50 km away respectively from the Sanatorium. The MMU currently provides medical cover to over a lakh people spread over 250 villages and the patients are treated free of charge.
